Downloading Sims 3 real estate files

To install Sims 2 Lot files

After selecting a lot click the download button, extract the file ( I usually extract the file to my desk top then it will be easy to find ) and then double click the Sims 2 pack. The file will install automatically then you can then delete the zip file.

To install Sims 2 Homecrafter files

Homecrafter walls, floors and terrain paints are all zipped with Winzip, download the file and extract the file, then double click the Sims 2 pack to install. The file will automatically go to your Sims 2 downloads folder.

Installing custom meshes and re-coloures

Mini Lots

A small number of my lots are on a mini lot 1X1 they can be used with just the base game or with any EP. They can be found at MTS2 .

To install paintings

Unzip the jpg file and put this file into C/ My Documents / EA Games / The Sims 2 / Paintings

When your Sim has acquired enough creativity points they will be able to choose the picture they want to paint, you can add your own pictures for your Sims to paint. If you have Freetime you can also frame these paintings once they are placed upon the wall.

To install the Dickensville neighbourhood files

To install the undecorated version of Dickensville that only requires The Sims 2, download and extract the SC4 files and place then in your SC4 folder. Which can be found in Start / Explore/ My Documents/ EA Games /The Sims 2.

To install the decorated version of Dickensville download both the SC 4 files and the N999 files. Extract the SC4 files as above then open the neighbourhood folder extract the N999 zip files to this folder. The decorated version requires all EP's and stuff packs up to and including Free time and Ikea stuff.

If on a rare occasion I use Home crafter from another free site I always give credit and a link to where it was from.

To install Sims 3 Lot files

If you want to install just one lot unzip the downloaded file and then double click the Sims3Pack (the Launcher will open so that you can install it from there).

To install more than one lot at a time: ( this handy info is from mod the sims )

Place the Sims3Pack files into My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads (under OS X, itâ€™s called just "Documents" instead of "My Documents").

Start game via the Launcher.

Select the Download button on left, then select the House tab.

Place a check beside each lot that is not installed. These will NOT be greyed out and the status box will be blank.

Select Install.

Important information regarding the doll!

You can find out all about the recent problem with this cc doll here in the forum at the Sims 3.com site and there is a very informative post from my friends at Neighborly Sims here. If you want to check your own files or anything else that you downloaded you can use Delpy's tool at MTS

The files you need to look out for and delete are

0x038a68fe04da61a6aa65f939d77fbc37.package
(the DOLL file that has been going around)

0x6cd59455e4d12667fa7eb50bdda87cec.package
(a CAS "naked skin" file)

I have checked my files and to the best of my knowledge all of my Sims 3 files are clean.
